Susan Marrs has taught English at both the upper school and college level and served as head of the Seven Hills Upper School. She attended the University of Cincinnati, where she received her B.A. in economics and her M.Ed. in secondary education. In addition to serving as the director of college counseling, Susan is the assistant head of school, and currently serves on the Fiske Guide to Colleges Counselor Advisory Group, the Princeton Review College Counselor Advisory Group, and the University of Michigan Counselors Advisory Council.
Alex Catalan joined Seven Hills in 2015 after working on the college side of the admissions and financial aid process. Most recently, he worked in graduate admissions at the University of Pennsylvania and reviewed undergraduate applications to Yale-NUS College, a highly selective joint-venture liberal arts college in Singapore. His career in higher education began at Beloit College, where he served as associate director of admissions and led intercultural recruitment initiatives. Alex earned his B.A. in Political Science from Beloit College and his M.S.Ed. in Higher Education from the University of Pennsylvania.
Beth Driehaus is a college counselor and Upper School U.S. history teacher. She came to Cincinnati by way of New York City, where she earned her master’s degree at Columbia University’s Teachers College. Prior to her work at Seven Hills, she was a teacher and admission officer at Miss Porter’s School, an all-girls boarding school in Farmington, Connecticut, and a history teacher at Stuyvesant High School in New York City. She loves the opportunity to work with students in finding their best college fit.
Julie DiRoma received her B.A. in environmental studies from Hamilton College. She most recently held the position of associate director of admissions in the Skidmore College Admissions Office. At Skidmore, she also worked as the assistant director of admissions from 2011 to 2016. DiRoma has held positions at W.W. Norton & Company and Hamilton College. She has worked in college admissions since 2009. She enjoys working with students and helping them find their educational niche.
