Early Care and After the Bell

At Seven Hills, we know the length of a typical day is different for each of our students and their families. We offer before-school and after-school care programs for students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. Our Doherty and Hillsdale campuses both open at 7:30 a.m. and don’t close until 6 p.m.

 

BEFORE SCHOOL CARE

Before school care is offered, free of charge, for students age 3 through grade eight starting at 7:30 a.m. For our pre-kindergarten for two-year-olds students, before school care is available beginning at 8a.m.

AFTER THE BELL

Our after school program, After the Bell, offers a variety of enrichment activities that complement the school day for pre-kindergarteners through eighth-graders. Children can choose to participate in Encore Club, enrichment programs, music lessons, or a combination of all three. After the Bell is available from 3:15-6 p.m. on both our Hillsdale and Doherty campuses.

 Our younger Lower School students have a fun place to play, learn, and explore in our programs. Whether they’re learning an instrument, pursuing special interests, or spending time with friends, students will enjoy these after school options. Middle School students staying on campus past 3:15 p.m. have an opportunity to join Encore Club, participate in music lessons, and register for after-school enrichment workshops or programs.

Lower School Programs (Pre-kindergarten through Grade 5)

Students keep their minds and bodies active in Encore Club. Early Childhood and Lower School children are grouped by grade-level and our dedicated staff plan an exciting array of activities that include art, games, and active play. Students will have the opportunity to enjoy time with friends following a busy day of learning. Parents do not have to make reservations and we offer a flexible fee schedule with annual, daily, and hourly options.

Is your child an artist? Scientist? Maybe a chess player? Children can explore these passions and others in our specialty enrichment programs. We offer eight-week fall, winter and spring sessions, as well as a mini session.

Gym Explorers

Children will begin learning basic gymnastics skills and proper techniques. Children will work on skills and drills to establish their balance, flexibility, strength, and coordination. Gymnastics related games, learning activities, and obstacle courses will be incorporated along the way. They will be able to experience the fun of gymnastics and getting active!

Dinosaurs Alive!

Do dinosaurs still exist? What was the biggest dinosaur? Were all dinosaurs meat eaters and did they come in different colors? Come explore the world of dinosaurs as we become paleontologists and go on simulated fossil digs, make trace fossils, create erupting volcanoes, and much more.

Grades: Pre-kindergarten and Kindergarten

Innovation Club

Join Innovation club and learn 3-D design and printing (TinkerCad), robotics (LegoWeDos), coding and creating your own game (Scratch), and green screen video making (Doink)!

Time: 3:45-4:45 p.m.

Minecraft and Retro Games at Lotspeich

(shuttle available)

Battle friends in the world of Minecraft and work on your own Minecraft creations. This class will also feature retro computer games like Oregon Trail and Centipede. Time to get crazy with computers!

Football Fun at Lotspeich

Do your kids love the NFL? If your children are into football, sports trivia, statistics, or pre-season team analysis, this is the class for your them! Students will play sports trivia, play flag football outside, do research on their favorite teams, and talk about the great sport of football!

Grades: 3-7

Dates: Wednesdays

Time: 4-5 p.m.

Art Club

Let’s have fun exploring lots of different art materials. We will use clay, papier mache, fabrics, paint, mosaic tiles, and more. Join in the fun and discovery of the wide range of materials that can be used to create art.

Students can participate in special, one-day events that take place on both our Hillsdale and Doherty campuses through our mini sessions. Students must register and can participate in programs regardless of the hosting campus. The Seven Hills shuttle bus is available to transport students in kindergarten through fifth-grade between our campuses to the mini session. Return transportation is not available.

Students with an interest in music can register for a variety of lessons, including drums, guitar, piano, violin, and voice. Music lessons are available for students starting at 5 years of age through fifth grade. Our talented teachers offer lessons on a weekly basis during the school year. Lessons are scheduled based upon teacher availability. Sessions are $30 for each 30-minute, private session.

MIDDLE SCHOOL (GRADES 6 THROUGH 8)

The Middle School Encore Club provides students an opportunity to gather with friends in a relaxed atmosphere. Students can choose to do homework or other quiet activities in the Middle School commons.

A variety of enrichment workshops and programs are offered throughout the school year. All program information is included in the weekly Middle School email blast.

Middle School students can explore their musical passions at after-school music lessons. Our teachers share their talents for drums, guitar, piano, violin, and voice in classes held on a weekly basis during the school year. Lessons are scheduled based upon teacher availability. Sessions are $30 for each 30-minute, private session.
