Early Care and After the Bell

At Seven Hills, we know the length of a typical day is different for each of our students and their families. We offer before-school and after-school care programs for students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. Our Doherty and Hillsdale campuses both open at 7:30 a.m. and don’t close until 6 p.m.

BEFORE SCHOOL CARE

Before school care is offered, free of charge, for students age 3 through grade eight starting at 7:30 a.m. For our pre-kindergarten for two-year-olds students, before school care is available beginning at 8a.m.

AFTER THE BELL

Our after school program, After the Bell, offers a variety of enrichment activities that complement the school day for pre-kindergarteners through eighth-graders. Children can choose to participate in Encore Club, enrichment programs, music lessons, or a combination of all three. After the Bell is available from 3:15-6 p.m. on both our Hillsdale and Doherty campuses.

Our younger Lower School students have a fun place to play, learn, and explore in our programs. Whether they’re learning an instrument, pursuing special interests, or spending time with friends, students will enjoy these after school options. Middle School students staying on campus past 3:15 p.m. have an opportunity to join Encore Club, participate in music lessons, and register for after-school enrichment workshops or programs.

Lower School Programs (Pre-kindergarten through Grade 5)

Students keep their minds and bodies active in Encore Club. Early Childhood and Lower School children are grouped by grade-level and our dedicated staff plan an exciting array of activities that include art, games, and active play. Students will have the opportunity to enjoy time with friends following a busy day of learning. Parents do not have to make reservations and we offer a flexible fee schedule with annual, daily, and hourly options.

Chess with Daniel Zimmer

One of the greatest things about being a kid is the ability to play. If we put a chessboard in front of a child, he or she will begin to play whether they know the rules or not. Playing chess is natural for kids and this helps to explain why so many children enjoy chess.

Studies have shown the benefits of chess education for children include:

– Improvement in mathematics and in physics

– Improvement in concentration and focus

– Increased analytic and problem-solving skills

– Strengthening the child’s will power

Whether the child is a beginner or advanced player, our chess club will provide a hands-on experience for learning the basics of the game up to advanced tactics, opening theory, and positional play.
