Clubs and Activities

Our youngest students can expand their world even further with engaging clubs and activities that give them opportunities to explore their interests, practice their leadership skills, and get involved with their community.

The Crazy Fun Community Service Club

The Crazy Fun Community Service Club is open to Lotspeich students of all ages. Club members meet once a week to brainstorm community service projects. One weekend a month, they complete a service project.

Service Club

The Service Club is composed of second- and third-grade volunteers who help the school, community, and the city of Cincinnati. Students spend time at recess making posters for school events.

Student Council

Fourth- and fifth-graders in Student Council can be found around campus helping out at annual events. Some of their responsibilities include making advertisements for various fundraisers, showing guests around on Grandpersons Day, and organizing items for the coat drive.

Green Team

The Green Team, made up of fourth- and fifth-graders, makes Doherty Campus a greener place. The team also organizes activities for Earth Day.

Student Ambassadors

Student Ambassadors are fourth- and fifth-graders who represent the Doherty Campus. Students take tours with perspective parents, attend prospective parent coffees, and speak at Unit III’s Looking Ahead event.

Girls on the Run

Fourth- and fifth-graders in Girls on the Run complete community service projects and train to run a 5K at the end of the season. It is the mission of the program to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum.

Outdoor Club

Outdoor Club, open to fourth- and fifth-graders, exposes students to outdoor experiences such as biking, rock climbing, and canoeing.

Lab Rats

Fourth- and fifth-grade Lab Rats come to school early to provide daily care for the science classroom animals. Students care for snakes, a bearded dragon, fish, and a Chinese water dragon.

Morning Creators

The Creation Studio, one of our makerspaces, opens early on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays to welcome Morning Creators. Students in grades one through five experience new technology and explore everything the Creation Studio has to offer.
