New Facilities

Under the guidance of the Board of Trustees and administrative leadership, The Seven Hills School has added new facilities to both its Hillsdale Campus and its Doherty Campus.

Hillsdale Campus

(PRE-KINDERGARTEN FOR 2-YEAR-OLDS THROUGH 12TH GRADE)

 

Schiff Center

  • Projected completion spring 2019
  • Two-story, 40,000-square-foot facility
  • Three large classroom/rehearsal spaces
  • State-of-the-art auditorium with seating for 500 people

Athletic Field House

  • Projected completion spring/summer 2019
  • 30,000 square-foot facility
  • Four basketball/volleyball courts
  • Multipurpose room
  • Concession stand
  • Inclement weather indoor practice facility

Six Tennis Courts

  • Completed May 2018
  • Six state-of-the-art courts, which are home of boys and girls varsity, junior varsity, and Middle School tennis teams
  • Master Site Plan includes four additional courts

 

Founders Hall Renovations

  • Founders Hall, used as a cafeteria and performance and rehearsal space, underwent extensive changes
  • Renovations include a new floor, tables, chairs, dropdown drum lights, and eight additional windows
  • New curtain for the stage
  • Acoustical absorption panels in a variety of colors on the walls.

 

Nellie Leaman Taft Early Childhood Center

  • Completed August 2015
  • 17,000-square-foot facility
  • Features nine classrooms, a stage/performance space, kitchen, lab,and muscle room
  • Home to Lotspeich’s Beginnings Parent and Toddler Enrichment Program, pre-kindergarten for 2-year-olds, pre-kindergarten, and kindergarten classes
  • Designated space for the early childhood After the Bell programs and summer program
  • Dellie’s Garden encompasses the early childhood outdoor education center, bird observation blinds, instructional gardens, climbing frame and playscape, and tricycle paths

 

Lower Fields Athletic Complex

  • Completed fall 2014
  • Three fields measuring a total of 175,000 square feet
    • Grass elementary baseball field/regulation softball field
      • Home of varsity and Middle School softball
    • Regulation, all-weather turf field with stadium lights and spectator seating
      • Home of the boys and girls varsity, junior varsity, and Middle School soccer and lacrosse teams
    • Dewitt/Good Field – all-weather, lit, auxiliary turf field

 


Doherty Campus

(PRE-KINDERGARTEN FOR 2-YEAR-OLDS THROUGH FIFTH GRADE)

 

Kemper Playground

  • Completed fall 2015
  • Expansive playscape featuring a slide, swings, a jungle gym, spider web crawler, a clatter and lily pad bridge, gym bars, and a curved chute slide
  • Wooden deck, which serves as a stage for impromptu student performances

 

Jones Hall Renovations

  • Extensive updates including a renovated foyer and entrance, eight refurbished classrooms, and a new science lab
  • Renovations to the Creation Studio makerspace, which allows students to explore STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) concepts. After removing a wall to make the room larger, the space was equipped with lab tables, computers, and 3-D printers.
  • Renovations to the library include a reading nook, new shelving units and furniture, and new technology, such as projectors and large-screen computers

 

Brooks Hall Renovations

  • Gymnasium renovations include electric bleachers, efficient lighting, and freshly painted walls, and refinished floors featuring Seven Hills’ mascot, Sting, in the center.
  • Cafeteria renovations include resurfaced tables and a dropped ceiling
