Traditions

At Seven Hills, traditions play a significant role in fostering a sense of belonging, school spirit, and unity within the Seven Hills community. Whether it is a visiting author, a trip into the mountains, an intensive study, or fireworks display, Seven Hills traditions define what is it so be a member of the Seven Hills community.

Senior Circle

On their last day as Seven Hills students, the senior class is seen off by their teachers, classmates, and parents in a joyful parade around the upper field.

Personal Challenge Projects

Through this staple of the Upper School curriculum, students delve into a passion project — from building cars to writing the next great play.

May Term

This special week-long Upper School program gives students the chance to learn about a variety of topics, from the criminal justice system to combustion engines to mural making.

Adventure Trek

As a way to bond and grow into their role as the new leaders of the Middle School, the eighth grade class travels annually to the mountains of North Carolina for an adventure camp.

Innovation Lab

In this state-of-the-art makerspace, Middle Schoolers explore engineering, design, and computer science through hands-on, creative projects.

Between the Pages

This annual Middle and Upper School program welcomes a middle grade or young adult author to campus to spend the day with students, discussing their work and helping with creative writing.

Artist in Resident

Guest artists spend a week with Middle School students working together on a division-wide project.

Homecoming

Homecoming is a spirited event for the entire The Seven Hills community. Families and friends gather on the Hillsdale Campus for the family picnic, sports clinics, and a penalty shootout, all capped off with a fireworks display.

Arts Alive

The arts come alive throughout the Hillsdale Campus in an annual celebration of artists and performers of all ages.

Cultural Connections

Every March, all Doherty Lower School students dive deep into the study of a different country, learning about its language, culture, geography, history, and food.

May Fete

The annual celebration, hosted by the Lotspeich Lower School Parent Community, offers an evening of frozen treats, bounce houses, games, and raffles.

Lotspeich Plant Sale

After nurturing plants throughout the spring semester, Lotspeich first graders show off their green thumbs in a yearly plant sale.

Doherty Carnival

Every May, the Doherty Campus is bustling with face painting, games, bike races, raffles, bounce houses, rock climbing, and more for the Doherty Carnival.

Morning with Bridges

Lotspeich second graders learn everything there is to know about bridges, from geometry to design, culminating in an exhibition of student-made bridge dioramas.

Mini Pig

On the Friday before the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon, the Doherty pre-kindergartners take part in the Doherty Mini Pig, a two-lap race around the soccer field.
