Girls Tennis starts with a win streak

The girls varsity tennis team started the season with a four-game win streak, defeating DI opponent Mount Notre Dame 3-2 and beating Roger Bacon 5-0 in their Miami Valley Conference opener. Junior Katie Stevenswas named the Enquirer tennis singles player of the week for winning both her matches at second singles in the Stingers’ wins over Madeira and Seton. The Stingers had an excellent showing at the Chaminade-Julienne Tournament in mid-August. Sophomore Daniela Alper was the second singles winner. Seniors Leila Blackshaw-Brown and Megha Gaitonde were the first doubles champions. Freshman Amrutha Juluri and senior Phoebe Rubenstein were the runners up in second doubles.
