Doherty End of Year Awards
During Doherty’s Closing Ceremony in the courtyard with family and friends, several students received academic and citizenship awards. Fifth grader Eliana McKee received the Hoeland Award for demonstrating academic achievement, breadth and scope of interests beyond the classroom, leadership, citizenship, and character. Fifth grader Sarah Hassell received the Loveland Award for exceptional interest and excellence in the area of English and writing. In this year’s Doherty Spelling Bee, fourth grader Diane Chiseck came in second and fifth grader Henry Liu won. Valentina Williams was the runner up and Avery Fennell was the winner for fourth grade for the Ohio Math League. For fifth grade for the Ohio Math League, Tyler Jordan was the runner up and Henry Liu won. Henry Liu also won the Excellence in Math Award. Doherty’s Student Council Citizenship Awards were presented to Unit I students Bradford Phillips and Jack Diedrichs, Unit II students Ethan Wood and George Platts, and Unit III students Sajni Puri and Sara Chambers.
