Unit III explores Glen Helen

Unit III students spent three days at the Glen Helen Nature Preserve in Yellow Springs, Ohio. “The program Glen Helen offers is a wonderful complement to our curriculum in all content areas. It centers around the major themes of ecology, geology, and environment problem solving with an emphasis on cooperation and teamwork,” said Unit III teacher Tracy Hickenlooper. The students explored the 1,000-acre preserve and learned about environmental protection and the relationship between plants and animals, while working together and problem solving. “The experience also provides them with a chance to grow personally in understanding, giving, caring, and sharing,” Hicklenlooper said.
