Unit I learns How-To Writing

Unit I students in Amy Kulhavik’s class learned about how-to writing in Language Arts. The students had a discussion about how to blow bubbles and then wrote instructions about how to blow bubbles using transition words, like first, next, and last. To test their writing, they went outside and blew bubbles following what they had written. To tie into their science unit on plants and animals, they also wrote instructions to describe how to plant flowers and then followed their writing to plant flowers around Doherty’s campus.
