Track sets school record, earns multiple top finishes
The co-ed varsity track team has set a new school record and has had multiple first place finishes this season. The mixed 4×400 relay team of senior Abigail Li, juniors Callie Drew and Carter Stevens, and sophomore Brady O’Connor created a new school record of 4:11.91 at the Madeira Invitational on April 6. On April 14 at Norwood, the 4×200 team of Drew, freshman Claire Bachelder, and juniors Laila Kerr and Margret Schnirring took first. Drew finished first in the 200. The 4×200 team and Drew in the 200 repeated their wins at the Cincinnati Country Day meet, with junior Tyler Anderson also finishing first in the long jump. At Finneytown, the team of Drew, Bachelder, Kerr, and Schnirring won the 4×400, leading the girls to a first place finish overall. Stevens and Li both won the 800 and freshman Sabrina Donovan placed first in shotput and discus. The boys finished third at the St. Bernard-Elmwood Place High School Invitational with Stevens winning the 1600 and the 800. Freshman Malcolm Faison won the 300 hurdles and the 4×400 team of Faison, Stevens, O’Connor, and sophomore Ryan Brackett took first.
