Tennis captures MVC Title

The varsity boys tennis team won the Miami Valley Conference title for the third time in five years. The Stingers went into the post-season with a record of 13-1, having won six matches with a score of 5-0. Sophomore Avi Mahajan won the singles sectional tournament 6-4, 7-6. The doubles teams of sophomores Ethan Blatt and John Corbett came in third and junior Neel Parameswaran and sophomore Gavin Isakovcame in fourth. They all qualified for the district tournament. The team was nominated as top Ohio boys spring team of the week for May 2 by the Enquirer. Mahajan was nominated for tennis singles player of the week for his wins against Cincinnati Country Day, Mariemont, and Covington Catholic. The doubles team of Corbett and Blatt were also nominated for winning their flight at the Coaches Classic on April 30 and helping the Stingers to a second-place team finish.
