Softball is MVC Champs
For the fourth time in five seasons, the girls varsity softball team has won the Miami Valley Conference title. The team went undefeated in conference with a record of 10-0. The Stingers competed in the sectional tournament, but fell in the first round after a hard fought game. Sophomore Annie Katuska lead the MVC in four categories with nine home runs and a 1.44 ERA and, from the mound, 12 wins and 177 strikeouts. Senior Julia Tamai had eight homeruns and 37 RBIs this season, with the third highest batting average in the MVC at .778. Junior Erin Pierani earned an Enquirer nomination for the week of May 1 for having two four-hit games against St. Bernard-Elmwood Place and North College Hills. She had 17 RBIs across the two games.
