Seven Hills Announces 10 National Merit Finalists

The Seven Hills School is pleased to announce ten Seven Hills seniors — almost 10 percent of our graduating class — who were named National Merit Finalists by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.

The Seven Hills School congratulates the following 2020 National Merit Finalists: Kayzad Bharucha, Madeleine Creech, Yash Gaitonde, Madeleine Magruder, Nina Martinez Diers, Rajiv Raman, Andrea Stancescu, Stephen Walsh, Kevin Wang, and Chase Young.

The National Merit Scholarship Program is an annual academic competition that honors talented U.S. high school students. Finalists are the highest-scoring program entrants in each state and represent the top 1 percent of the state’s senior students. Students qualify for recognition in the National Merit programs with their scores on the PSAT/NMSWT.

About 15,000 of the 16,000 Semifinalists named in September 2019 have met all requirements to advance to Finalist standing in the competition. All Finalists will be considered for National Merit Scholarships offered in 2020. Of this group, about 7,500 seniors across the country are awarded scholarships of $2,500 that can be renewed each college year.
