Real Talk generates serious conversations about personal topics

The Middle School kicked off its Real Talk series in mid-October. Students met in the Schiff Center during their advisory time to hear from a panel of students and teachers who have different kinds of family structures. Panelists answered questions about family structures submitted by students through a survey. “The intent of these discussions is to assist students in developing a certain level of cultural competency, sensitivity, and acceptance of others,” Middle School science teacher Kristin Suer said. World language teacher Jacky Kalubi and Suer will facilitate two other panel discussions throughout the school year with other students and faculty members who identify with the topics.
