Puppet Show for Reading Buddies

While third graders in Ivette Crichton’s language arts class were working on their storytelling skills and a reader’s theatre format, they decided to perform the story “Who’s in Rabbit’s House?” for their reading buddies. Reader’s theatre is used to help students develop reading fluency as they read roles from a script. The third graders picked a puppet show, with sound effects and a full set, to entertain their reading buddies from Lindsay Pietroski’s kindergarten class. The third graders taught their kindergarten buddies about scripts and how they rehearsed the puppet show.
