Outdoor Learning in Pre-kindergarten

What do children learn from playing? Problem-solving, math, teamwork, persuasion, cooperation, listening skills, and more! Two-year-old pre-kindergarteners on the Doherty Campus recently enjoyed an outdoor day of learning on a crisp winter’s day with teacher Julie Brackett.  Brackett and her students hiked through different areas on campus, observed birds through bird blinds, and explored a wall of textured items outside. “Outdoor play is one of the greatest gifts we can give our children,” said Brackett. Adventurous curious children are some of the greatest gifts we can give our communities!”
