Middle School Raises $22,000 for The Caring Place

The Seven Hills Middle School raised $22,242.09 for The Caring Place through its second annual Walk-a-Thon. The students presented a representative from The Caring Place with a check during a ceremony on Tuesday, May 31.

The Caring Place provides services and food, clothing, and furniture to members of the Golf Manor, Kennedy Heights, Pleasant Ridge, and Silverton communities.

“It was a huge success last year, so we decided to continue it. We are proud of the students’ support and dedication to raising money for The Caring Place,” said organizer and Middle School teacher Jennifer Licata.

For a total of six days, more than 210 Middle School students walked the track during homeroom to raise the money.

“Thank you so much to everyone who walked and donated. We’re so thankful for your generosity. One of my goals is to have a small clinic available in The Caring Place and this will help us get closer to that goal. So, thank you so much,” said Sharifah Tafari, executive director of The Caring Place.
