Lunch and Learn covers diversity in corporate America

The World Languages Department hosted guest speaker Jacqueline Aguilar, who has worked at Proctor & Gamble since 2013, to talk about the importance of Hispanic and Latino representation in America to Upper School students in the Young Family Library during lunch. “I am sharing this information because you are going to be the future leaders. I am sharing this so you have an understanding of those who might not be from your community,” Aguilar told the students. She outlined the contributions Hispanic and Latino people have made throughout American history dating back to the 1600s and to the modern economy. Though they make up a significant portion of the consumer market and are the largest growing workforce, they are underrepresented in media representation and in the corporate sector. She stressed the importance of having inclusivity in the workplace and gave the students advice on how to create it.
