Local Organization teaches students about healthy relationships

Upper School freshmen learned about healthy relationships, proper boundaries, and consent during a five-day series of sessions in early January put on by Women Helping Women. “WHW is a valued local partner with a curriculum that helps adolescents understand what safe and supportive relationships look and feel like, and empowers students to learn how to set and respect boundaries with their peers and adults,” said Upper School counselor Vicky Hausberger. Students learned about methods of self-care, identified what they value in a relationship, and discussed the importance of honesty and equality, in addition to learning to identify signs and patterns of abuse. “One important element of social-emotional learning is developing healthy relationships,” Hausberger said.
