HOSA Club places first at state, qualifies for internationals
The Upper School Health Occupation Students of America, or HOSA, Club competed at the state competition in March, with six students having top finishes and qualifying for the international competition in Texas in June. “I am so proud of our HOSA chapter’s members. They worked so hard and it definitely paid off. (Senior) Edie Tesfaye and I are co-heads and are so happy to see it expanding successfully,” senior Ella Dubay said. Sophomore Kyle Wang and the team of juniors Evelyn Gao and Julie Jiang placed first. The team of juniors Jenna Alshami, Lidya Tesfaye, and Megha Gaitonde placed second. They all qualified for internationals and junior Dhanush Bearelly will be attending as an Ohio HOSA representative. Congrats to all the members who competed at the state competition: freshmen Charlie Dubay and Harriet Seale; sophomores Areej Arif, Ahalya Nambiar, and Sydney Schneider; juniors Natalia Butler and Lina Afsaw; and seniors Ellie Cain and Abigail Li.
