Heart shaped animals in Unit II

As part of their Valentine’s Day project, Unit II students in Ivette Crichton and Julie Guminey’s classes constructed animals using only heart shapes and then wrote narratives about them. The project started with a reading of “Edward the Emu” by Shenna Knowles, in which Edward dreams about being other animals. The students planned, designed, and created animals using only heart shapes and then practiced their writing and storytelling skills by writing stories about them.
