Eighth-graders Explore Robotics
Eighth-graders in Karen Glum’s exploring computer science class recently became the first class to use the Middle School’s new Hummingbird Robotics Kits. The kits include lights, motors, and sensors for students to create their own robots. “For the assignment, students were tasked with designing, building, and programming a robot or robotic display that incorporates a minimum of one sensor and three outputs, such as movement, light, or sound,” Glum said. “The programs students write to control their robots had to include a loop, a variable, and a conditional statement.”
