Doherty End of Year Awards
During Doherty’s Closing Ceremony in the courtyard with family and friends, several students received academic and citizenship awards. Fifth grader Nina Maloney received the Hoeland Award for demonstrating academic achievement, breadth and scope of interests beyond the classroom, leadership, citizenship, and character. Fifth grader Diane Chiseck received the Loveland Award for exceptional interest and excellence in the area of English and writing. In this year’s Doherty Spelling Bee, fifth grader Avery Fennell came in second and fifth grader Matthew Guillen won. George Platts and AJ Niederhelman were the runner ups and Kamden Kummerle was the winner for fourth grade for the Ohio Math League. For fifth grade for the Ohio Math League, Carter Cassady and Matthew Guillen were the runners up and Diane Chiseck won. Carter Cassady won the Excellence in Math Award. Matthew Gullien and Carter Cassady won the Continental Math Award and Ethan Suer was the runners up. Doherty’s Student Council Citizenship Awards were presented to first graders Louisa Dust and Will Brody, second grader Sarah Guillen, third grader Claire Martin, fourth grader Lillian Murphy, and fifth grader Macie Morelli.
