Author Nancy Churnin Visits Doherty
Award-winning children’s book author Nancy Churnin spoke to Doherty students in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade in the library on Monday, April 8. Churnin shared the first book she wrote and drew as a child, how she became a professional writer, and how being an author is different than being a journalist. She read her book “The William Hoy Story,” about a deaf baseball player, who played for the Cincinnati Reds in the 1800s.
