Important skills I want to teach my students

I want my students to feel confident in their problem solving and critical thinking skills. I also want them to feel that it is acceptable for a technique not to work at first, to learn from that and to keep trying until they are successful. Lastly, I want my students to gain an awareness of how math pertains to the real world.

Teaching methods that reach these goals

In my class, we discuss problem-solving strategies with encouraged input from every member of the class. Students also participate in hands-on activities and spend time working collaboratively.

My favorite projects

I love projects that encourage students to use creativity and artistic talents.

What I like best about teaching at Seven Hills

What I like best is the mutual respect between students and faculty, the enthusiasm for learning, and making positive changes both within our community and areas outside our campus.
