Boys Tennis is State Champs
For the first time in school history, the boys varsity tennis team is the Ohio Tennis Coaches Association State Team Champions. The Stingers beat Lexington 3-0 with wins by junior Avi Mahajan, senior Cole Cozens, and the doubles team of juniors John Corbett and Gavin Isakov. At the OHSAA’s state tournament on May 25 and 26, Mahajan finished in second place with Cozens coming in third. Corbett and his doubles partner junior Ethan Blatt advanced to the second round. At districts, Cozens finished first in singles with Mahajan coming in third. Corbett and Blatt finished second in doubles. Cozens and Mahajan faced each other in the final round of the sectional tournament with Cozens coming out on top. Corbett and Blatt finished second for doubles. Cozens is continuing his tennis career next year at the University of Toledo.
