Teaching Philosophy

Important skills I want to teach my students

I want to teach my students to think critically. I want them to understand that the work we do together builds from day to day. I want my students to understand their potential and that hard work is what it takes to reach it.

Teaching methods to reach these goals

We do a lot of group work activities. I encourage my students to learn from each other and revise their own thinking based on what others share as well as new learning they make.

My favorite projects

My favorite activity in third grade is helping students work through the writing process, especially focusing on revision. This is the year they just “get it!!”

What I like best about teaching at Seven Hills

One of my favorite things about working at Seven Hills is collaborating with amazing colleagues. We support each other, challenge each other, and just have fun thinking of ways to help our students grow.
