Teaching Philosophy

Important skills I want to teach my students

I want my students to fall in love with learning and exploring all that our school has to offer while I teach them how to be at school, social interactions, regulations, and independent skills. For many students, this is their first experience away from home. I want to create trusting relationships and fun experiences, making them want to run into school.

Teaching methods to reach these goals

I accomplish this by providing a language-rich environment with materials, experiences and modeling appropriate behaviors and encouraging independence and self-confidence.

My favorite projects

My favorite project is our fall exploration. Picking pumpkins from our garden, playing in our dramatic play apple market, and exploring leaves on our nature walks.

What I like best about teaching at Seven Hills

I love teaching at Seven Hills because it allows me to be creative. I love having unique experiences based on children’s interests and the wonderful resources we have.
