Teaching Philosophy

Important skills I want to teach my students

I believe it is essential not only to support students in strengthening their mathematical skills but also to ensure they are cultivating the confidence necessary to thrive in any classroom setting.

Teaching methods to reach these goals

As a math support specialist, I provide targeted assistance to students in diverse learning environments, including classroom settings, small groups, and individualized one-on-one sessions. Engaging with students across these varied contexts allows me to gain a deep understanding of each learner as an individual. It enables me to assess their unique skills, strengths, and interests, and to tailor my support to foster their academic growth. By doing so, I am able to contribute to building their confidence and ensuring their success through positive and meaningful educational experiences.

My favorite projects

One of my favorite activities throughout the year is participating in our Hives groups. Our fifth grade students take on leadership roles and serve as guides to students in kindergarten through fourth grade. Our groups engage in various games and creative projects, while also developing meaningful connections through thoughtful conversations and collaboration.

What I like best about teaching at Seven Hills

I love teaching at Seven Hills because of the exceptionally supportive and engaged family and parent community. Additionally, I value the opportunity to collaborate with a dynamic, creative, and highly skilled team of educators who consistently prioritize the well-being and academic success of our students.
