Boys Golf having winning season

The boys varsity golf team went on a three match win streak early in the season and currently has a record of 6-2. The Stingers beat Summit Country Day, Roger Bacon, and St. Xavier. Junior Charlie Mullin led the team with multiple under par performances. Senior Jack Good shot 2 under par at Avon Fields Golf Course against Roger Bacon. On Sept. 8, the Stingers defeated Summit Country Day again 5 1/2 points to 1/2. Good went even par with a score of 34.

Cross Country goes 1, 2 at first race

The girls varsity and boys varsity cross country teams placed first and second, respectively, at the Cincinnati Country Day Invitational in late August. For the boys, junior Carter Stevens placed third. In the girls race, senior Annelise Hawgood finished third, sophomore Addie Necco placed fourth, and senior Abigail Li finished sixth. At the Vern Hawkins Invitational on Sept. 10, the girls placed second overall and the boys came in fourth. Necco placed 11th, Hawgood came in 12th, and Li finished 15th. Stevens finished fourth in the boys race.

Girls Golf Starts Strong

The girls varsity golf team started its second season strong by placing second at the Cincinnati Country Day Invitational with a team score of 321. Junior Julia Zhu placed second overall with a score of 70. The Stingers won the Eastside Conference on Aug. 15 with a score of 189. They have also defeated, Fairfield High School, and McNicholas High School.

Girls Tennis Starts with a win

The girls varsity tennis team started its season with a 4-1 win over Dayton Miami Valley. Senior Sohana Thompson and sophomore Charlotte Scharfenberger both went 2-0 for singles. The Stingers defeated Cincinnati Country Day 4-1, with the doubles team of Thompson and Scharfenberger keeping their opponent scoreless. Thompson and Scharfenberger earned an Enquirer nomination for top girls tennis doubles team of the week for Sept. 5. The Stingers are currently second in the Miami Valley Conference with an in-conference record of 4-2 and an overall record of 7-3.

Boys Soccer leading Scarlet Division

The boys varsity soccer team is currently leading the Miami Valley Conference Scarlet Division with a 2-0 in-conference record and a 4-1-1 overall record. Sophomore Everett Rinaldi has five goals and five assists. Junior goalkeeper Rex Shaffer has 39 saves and four shutouts. Keep up the great work, Stingers!
