Boys Soccer is MVC Champs

The boys varsity soccer team is the Miami Valley Conference champions after defeating Cincinnati Country Day 4-0. The Stingers lead the Miami Valley Conference scarlet division with an overall record of 8-2-4 and an in-conference record of 3-0-1. The Stingers had a big win over Finneytown High School on Oct. 1 with a score of 6-0. Junior Rex Shaffer led the MVC with seven shutouts. He also had 75 saves this season. Sophomore Everett Rinaldi led the MVC with 10 assists and was second in goals with nine.

Volleyball is MVC Champs

With a 3-2 win over Miami Valley Christian Academy, the girls varsity volleyball team is the Miami Valley Conference champions. The Stingers went 9-1 for in-conference games. Sophomore Annie Katuska was third in the conference with 72 aces.

Boys Golf Heading to State

The boys varsity golf team has qualified for the state tournament by winning at the Miami Valley Conference tournament, sectionals, and districts. The Stingers won the Miami Valley Conference tournament with a combined score of 629. Junior Charlie Mullin and sophomore Billy Good led the Stingers in both rounds of competition. Charlie Mullin, Good, and seniors Ric DeLyons and John Mullin made first team All-MVC and senior Jack Good made second team All-MVC. Charlie Mullin led the Stingers at sectionals winning by four shots. At districts, Charlie Mullin was the individual champion with the Stingers coming in first place. The team will compete at the state tournament in Columbus on Oct. 14-15.

Girls Golf to Districts

The girls varsity golf team qualified for the districts tournament thanks to second place finish at the sectional tournament. Junior Julia Zhu tied for first place as sectional champion with a score of 83. Senior Riley deBuys tied for seventh overall. The Stingers will compete at the district tournament on Oct. 5.

Stingers succeed at Seven Hills Invitational

The girls varsity cross country team took first and the boys took second at the Seven Hills Invitational over Homecoming Weekend. Junior Carter Stevens finished first in the boys race. For the girls, senior Abigail Li placed fourth and senior Annelise Hawgood finished fifth. At the Milford Cross Country Invitational on Sept. 17, the girls team placed third overall and Stevens finished third in the boys race.

New tennis courts officially unveiled

Head of School Chris Garten shared his appreciation and gratitude for Seven Hills four new tennis courts at the ribbon cutting on Sept. 23. “These new tennis courts will not only strengthen our tennis program, it will take it to new heights. It was only possible thanks to Director of Development Margo Kirstein, and our very generous donors.” Head tennis coach Tim Drew also shared his enthusiasm. “All I can say is watch out, because we’re excited and ready for next season to go further than we’ve gone before. We’re going to accomplish great things thanks to your support,” Drew said. Seniors Clara Chen, Mallory Dorsch, and Neal Parameswaran, and juniors John Corbett, and Ethan Blatt, expressed their gratitude to the school, their coaches, and donors as well.
