21 Stingers named Fall Sports All Stars

The Cincinnati Enquirer named 21 Stingers as fall sports all stars.

Golf
Senior Jacob Joffe was named co-golfer of the year and to first team. Senior Collin Chen and freshman Billy Good were named to second team for golf and sophomore Charlie Mullin received an honorable mention. For girls golf, sophomore Maggie Motch was named to first team and sophomore Julia Zhu was named to second team.

Tennis
Junior Sohana Thompson was named to first-team singles for tennis. Seniors Cristina Stancescu and Gabriella Khaskelis were given honorable mentions for singles. The doubles teams of seniors Wendy Woffington and Shriya Sekar and freshmen Charlotte Scharfenberger and Sydney Schneider were named to second-team doubles.

Soccer
For boys soccer, senior Ahmed Abass was named to first team, freshman Everett Rinaldi was named to second team, and senior Joshua Porter received an honorable mention. For girls soccer, seniors Priya Jenkins and Caitlin Drew were named to first team and senior Alexis Veldhuis was named to second team.

Volleyball
Senior Meg Seshiah was named to first team and junior Ella Dubay received an honorable mention for volleyball.

Senior breaks record at swimming Classic

On Jan. 15, Senior Ella Jo Piersma broke the record for the girls 100 butterfly at the Southwest Ohio Swimming & Diving Classic, the largest high school swim meet in the nation. She also finished first in the 100 Freestyle and second in the 200 Freestyle and 200 Butterfly. Congrats, Ella Jo!

Girls Basketball Extends Win Streak

The girls varsity basketball team has extended their win streak to 11 games and are sitting at the top of the division. The Stingers are holding their opponents to scoring less than 23 points per game, on average. Senior Priya Jenkins is second in the conference on assists.

Boys Bowling Second in Conference

The boys varsity bowling team is second in the Miami Valley Conference with an in-conference record of 6-1 and an overall record of 8-2. The team was undefeated across their first eight matches. The Stingers are the team leader in the MVC for points and junior Will Kersting is the third individual points leader averaging 198.7 per game. At the first Ohio Private School State Challenge, senior Noah Kocher placed second overall and junior Jonny Osman placed eighth.
