Lotspeich students perform Disney magic

Lotspeich first through fourth graders performed a revue of popular Disney songs in late May. Under the guidance of Lotspeich music teacher Robin Wilson, students performed a selection of songs from films like “Moana,” “Monsters Inc.,” and “Zootopia.” Students wowed the audience with great singing and energized choreography.

BRILLIANT WORK!

Middle School students loved completing their end of the year art projects in art teacher Elissa Donovan’s class. Sixth graders combined electricity and coziness with their LED emoji pillows, by creating circuits with conductive thread. Seventh graders sculpted beautiful clay planters and finalized their self-portraits. Eighth grade merged fashion and art together as each student made their own signature PopArt shoes.

REHEARSAL MAKES PERFECT AT DOHERTY!

Congratulations to music teacher Maria Eynon, who directed a high-energy, beautiful choral performance of seven songs sung by students from Unit I through Unit III during Doherty’s closing program. Eynon said the students practiced their songs for months and performed off-book. All students sang the program’s title song, “Try Everything” from “Zootopia.” Unit I and II sang “Great New Day” and “Play That Music (All Day Long).” Unit III sang “Better When I’m Dancin’” and “Life’s What You Make It.” The Doherty Strings Ensemble, directed by Michaela Hibbard, performed “German Folk Song” and “New World Symphony Theme.” The program concluded with fifth graders singing the traditional “Another Bridge to Cross” and all students singing “Here Comes Summer!” Congratulations to Eynon and all of our Doherty students for a vibrant, outdoor performance!
