Fourth Grade learns about Robotics

Fourth graders dove into learning robotics during Jacquie Bertings’s Project Math class in early February. Using the LEGO Essential SPIKE Kits, students paired up to create and program different types of carnival games, like mini-golf, pinball machines, and bowling. Through the engaging collaborative process, fourth graders strengthened their understanding of various fundamental scientific principles, such as energy, force, and motion. After the fourth graders finish their robotics unit, the fifth graders will begin theirs in mid-February.
