Sports Broadcasting Club Helps Stingers Fans Enjoy Fall Sports from a Distance

The Seven Hills Sports Broadcasting Club (SBC) will bring fall sports to fans’ computer screens this school year. The club, led by junior Thomas Murphy and co-leader junior Drew Balaji, will broadcast volleyball and soccer games on its Youtube channel via a livestream. As freshmen, Murphy and Balaji were members of the original SBC, founded by Charles Clark ’19. “Since (Clark) was graduating, the club looked as if it were to fade away,” Murphy said. “We tried to revive it last year, but the COVID-19 lockdown complicated things. Since then, we’ve been working to get things up and running.” Murphy said club members plan to broadcast varsity volleyball and boys and girls soccer in the fall, boys and girls varsity basketball in the winter, and boys and girls varsity lacrosse and baseball in the spring. He added that the club would eventually like to stream other sports and junior varsity games. Follow the Seven Hills Sports Broadcasting Club on YouTube here  and Instagram here.

Athletics Hall of Fame Renovated

The Carol M. Brestel Hall of Fame, located in the lobby of the Kalnow Gym, was recently renovated to feature more of Seven Hills’ great athletes. In addition to a new sign and look, the Hall of Fame now features a digital flat panel playing a slideshow of recognized athletes. Across from the display is the new College Corner, which features 60 Seven Hills athletes who committed to play sports at the university level. “The Hall of Fame and College Corner honor our athletes who contributed so much to the athletics program during their time at Seven Hills,” said Athletic Director Scott Willard. “We are #StingerProud of their accomplishments at our school and beyond.”

Middle and Upper School Athletes of the Week

Each week, the Athletic Department, with the help of coaches, chooses an Athlete of the Week from both the Middle and Upper schools. These athletes are recognized around campus at www.GoStingers.org, and on Seven Hills Athletics social media. An Athlete of the Week is not always someone who scores the most goals that week or starts every game but exemplifies what it means to be a strong Seven Hills student athlete.
