Hall of Fame Inductions

Six Seven Hills alumni, coaches, and volunteers were inducted into the Athletics Hall of Fame with a ceremony in The Schiff Center on Jan. 26. Alums Lauren Weems ’14, David Stirsman ’82, and Jake Davis ’10 were admitted for their athletic achievement while playing multiple sports for Seven Hills. Basketball coach Willie Hill and track and cross country coach Tana Luckie were inducted for their decades of coaching. Glenn Shillinger spent 44 years assisting the athletics department as a bus driver, coach, clock operator, and general volunteer.

Middle School Spirit Night

Seven Hills Middle School winter sports athletes took the court in Kalnow Gym during Middle School Spirit Night. During halftime of the girls varsity basketball game against Miami Valley Christian Academy, the Middle School student-athletes’ names and teams were announced as they ran onto the court cheered on by the spectators and cheerleaders.

Girls Basketball ends regular season with a win

The girls varsity basketball team ended their regular season on Feb. 6 with a 48-5 win over North College Hill. The Stingers had an overall record of 15-5 and faced Deer Park in their first game of the sectional tournament on Feb. 8. The Stingers had an in conference record of 10-2, which earned them second place in the Miami Valley Conference Gray Division. Junior Margret Schnirring was third in the league in assists.

Swimmers compete at MVC tournament

The boys and girls swim teams competed at the Miami Valley Conference Championship on Feb. 4, with the girls finishing fourth overall. Freshman Colin McNerney won the boys’ 500 freestyle and finished second in the 200 freestyle. The achievement earned him an Enquirer Athlete of the Week nomination. For the girls, the 400 freestyle relay team of seniors Josie Domet and Carolyn Wolujewicz and sophomores Josie Schneiderand Raine Ellerman came in second. The team also finished fourth in the 200 freestyle relay. Schneider took third in the 100 backstroke and fourth in the 200 freestyle. In the 50 freestyle, Domet finished second, Ellerman took third, and Wolujewicz finished fifth. In the 100 freestyle, Ellerman came in second with Domet and Wolujewicz shortly behind in fifth and sixth place.

Indoor Track Competes at first meet

The co-ed indoor track team competed at the Mount Saint Joseph High School Invitational, their first meet of the year. There were numerous great times and excellent performances. Congrats to sophomores Nick Roblyer, Brady O’Connor, and Diego Godoy, juniors Carter Stevens and Dhanush Bearelly, and seniors Olivia Pohl and Abigail Li for finishing in the top 20 for their events.
