Junior joins Project Nouveau

Congratulations to junior Oliver Szabo for being accepted into Cincinnati Symphony Orchestras’ Project Nouveau program! The program’s goal is to help increase African American and Hispanic student participation in classical music by providing equitable access to music study and performances. Nouveau members receive weekly chamber music coaching, perform throughout the season, and participate in age-appropriate workshops and activities.

Learning to become a character

Middle School students in teacher Jacob Hauser’s class workshopped character scenes and explored their character’s intentions and motives as they blocked their scenes. Hauser encouraged students to put themselves in someone else’s shoes, and consider how someone else might react to a situation. Students loved being able to stretch their acting legs and examine different perspectives.

It's all in your head

Upper School students strengthened their skill set by learning how to sketch a human skull, complete with shadows and highlights, using only a pencil in teacher Daniel Vance’s class. Students utilized different kinds of pencil strokes to add dimension and texture to their drawings.
