UPPER SCHOOL CHORUS CONCERT
The Upper School Chorus performed a wide array of songs that incorporated percussion, and soloists during their mid-May spring concert. Vocalists sang a number of songs, from “Opening Up” from “Waitress” to “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” to “The Parting Glass,” which is part of Seven Hills’ Upper School choral tradition during the spring concert. Congratulations to our students, to vocal music teacher Tina Kuhlman, co-director and accompanist Esther Nam, and to technical director Trey Tatum.
MIDDLE SCHOOL CHORUS CONCERT
The Middle School Chorus enthralled an awe-struck audience in The Schiff Center in mid-May with 12 beautiful selections that spanned languages, tugged at audience members’ heartstrings, and sparkled with joyful passion. The lively concert included the sixth graders’ performance of “May a Rainbow Run Beside You,” “Sisi ni moja” and “Hero.” The seventh and eighth graders’ songs spanned multiple genres featuring “Vive la Compagnie,” “Revolting Children” from “Matilda the Musical,” and “Blackbird.” Congratulations to our students, to vocal music teacher Tina Kuhlman, accompanist Esther Nam, and to technical director Trey Tatum.
UPPER SCHOOL INSTRUMENTAL CONCERT
The Schiff Center was filled with the sounds of violins, cellos, flutes, and much more in early May during the Upper School’s Symphonic and Contemporary Ensembles concerts. The Symphonic Ensemble played five arrangements, including “The Doors on Tour” “Aboriginal Rituals,” Hairspray’s “You Can’t Stop the Beat,” and a combined performance with both ensembles of “Puttin’ On the Ritz.” The Contemporary Ensemble played five arrangements, including “Curacao Blue” and “Don’t Stop Me Now,” as well as “Make Me Smile.” The evening was an amazing culmination of a semester of hard work. Congratulations to our student musicians and instrumental teacher John Rising!
MIDDLE SCHOOL INSTRUMENTAL CONCERT
The Middle School Instrumental Ensembles awed their crowd as they beautifully performed a multitude of songs in The Schiff Center in early May. The sixth grade ensemble kicked off the concert with “Intensity,” “Chaos Mountain,” and “Crocodile Rock.” The seventh grade ensemble started its set with “Byzantine Dances,” energized its audience with Encanto’s “We Don’t Talk About Bruno,” and finished with “Respect.” The eighth grade ensemble closed the show with a wide range of musical stylings, including “Best of the Beatles,” “Bohemian Rhapsody,” and “Disco Lives.” Congratulations to our student musicians and instrumental teacher John Rising!
