Middle School Instrumental concert

A round of applause to the Middle School Instrumental Ensembles! The sixth grade ensemble kicked off the concert with “Midnight Mission,” “Festival of the Gladiators,” and “Samba La Bamba.” The seventh grade ensemble started its set with “Hillsdale March,” along with “Zombie Tango,” and “Mambo Cubano.” The eighth grade ensemble closed the show with a wide range of musical stylings, including the “Black Forest Overture,” “Brown Eyed Girl,” and “Santa’s Got a Brand New Bag”. Congratulations to our student musicians and instrumental teacher John Rising!

Upper School Instrumental concert

The Upper School Symphonic and Contemporary Ensembles dazzled their audience with their incredible musical prowess in early December. The Symphonic Ensemble played five arrangements, including “Let’s Get Loud,” “A Little Night Music,”  and “Oh Chanukah.” The Contemporary Ensemble played five arrangements, including “Biji,” and “Song for My Father,” as well as “Rikki Don’t Lose that Number.” The afternoon was an amazing culmination of a semester of hard work. Upper School advanced design students create light sculptures

Advanced graphic design Upper School students in Upper School art teacher Jason Knarr’s class designed sconces, three-dimensional light sculptures, as part of their advanced curriculum. Students were tasked with not only creating a sculpture that was beautiful when illuminated, but also was still aesthetically pleasing when the light was off.
