NEW MIDDLE SCHOOL BUILDING OFFICIALLY OPENS
On April 15, Head of Middle School Bill Waskowitz cut the ribbon signaling the official opening of the newly built and renovated Middle School. “Middle School is a time in many kids’ lives where they become disaffected about schooling. They are struggling to understand who they are, they can be self-conscious, and frankly, they can be bored with school. One of the things that define Seven Hills is that doesn’t happen here. If anything, our Middle School is one of the anchors and strengths of this great community,” Head of School Chris Garten said. The renovation and expansion increased the average classroom size by about 280 square feet, the science classrooms by 150 square feet, and the Innovation Lab by 200 square feet. There are also larger hallways, common areas for each grade, updated accessible design, and grade level team and teacher workspaces, and gender neutral restrooms.
Lower School STEAM Event a Success
Everyone had a great time at the Seven Hills Lower School STEAM event at Doherty Campus. Doherty and Lotspeich students completed various STEAM activities at stations throughout Brooks Hall. At each station, they learned about magnetism, how the eye works, polarity, and more. The stations were manned by Middle School students, who helped the Lower School students with the activities.
Arts Alive! a thrilling experience
The Inaugural Seven Hills ‘ARTS ALIVE!’ Fine and Performing Arts Festival was an absolute thrill! Middle and Upper School students amazed their audience with emotional and hilarious monologues in the Black Box theater, upbeat musical numbers in The Schiff Center, and fantastic drawings and paintings displayed in the Donovan Arts Center. Bravo!
