Third Grade Presents Playgrounds to Pre-kindergarten

Third graders shared their playground dioramas with pre-kindergarten students as part of their playground unit’s final project. 

Before constructing their playgrounds, students first studied the different kinds of forces on a playground in Lauren Fisher’s science class. Once they understood how forces worked, they drew and labeled them on their playgrounds. 

Students also strengthened their understanding of spatial awareness with how they placed items on their playground, along with geometry and measurement when it came to designing the playground’s layout. 

The playgrounds will stay in the pre-k classrooms so pre-k students can continue to explore them.
