Doherty Introduces Community Corner
November 3, 2025
To celebrate Seven Hills’ value of “commitment to community,” Doherty introduced a new program this year called the Doherty Community Corner, for members of the community to tell their stories and share their experiences with the Doherty community at the monthly assemblies. Speakers so far have included nurse Carolyn Vincze about a trip to Mexico for a quinceañera and the King family sharing their Diwali tradition.

“We have so much to learn from each other,” Angie Bielecki told the students at the first assembly of the year. “Even though you have teachers in your classroom, you guys are also teachers for each other.” Students shared different types of communities they are a part of like their family, city, and neighborhood and why communities are important. “Everyone works together so nobody is left out,” said second grader Elan Mistry. Assistant Head of School Laura Leonard ’06 was the speaker for the October Community Corner. Leonard is a Doherty parent and splits her time each week at both the Doherty and Hillsdale Campuses. |
“I am really excited to be with you guys today because I once sat in the same seats you guys are all sitting in,” Leonard told the students at the assembly. “Something that feels special to me is that I can share my Doherty connection with all of you.”
