LOTSPEICH MAY FETE
Lotspeich families and friends celebrated May Fete on May 5! Families enjoyed an evening of frozen treats, bounce houses, games, and amazing raffles in the Kalnow Gym. Many thanks to the Lotspeich Parent Community for hosting a fantastic, community-enriching event!
Arcade Day
Hip hip hooray for Lotspeich second graders’ arcade day! For several weeks, second graders were hard at work crafting their versions of arcade games alongside Project Math teacher Jacquie Berting, sharing their games with fellow Lotspeich students on May 5. Students adored planning and then preparing every part of Arcade Day including marketing, creating a presentation to share with their arcade visitors, and keeping track of participation. As Lotspeich students in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade played their games, second graders collected data which they will later organize, graph, and analyze in order to determine the total number of games played, among other data points.
First grade plant sale
Lotspeich first graders hosted their annual plant sale with produce grown throughout the spring semester! Students worked every job during the sale, from calculating a customer’s total at the register to directing potential customers to plants that best suited their needs. Customers purchased a variety of plants including basil, sunflowers, zinnias, and coneflowers. The first graders loved seeing the fruits of their labor bring joy to their community!
Wacky Wednesday
We’ve got spirit, yes we do, we’ve got Wacky Wednesday spirit! How about you? Every Wednesday for the past four weeks, students had the opportunity to enjoy festive fun with their classmates. Students loved dressing up every for the previous themes which were Marvel Mania, Sports and Stinger Swag, Animal Attire, and Terrific Tie Dye. May 24 is the last day to celebrate Wacky Wednesday, so join in the fun for the day’s theme of Comfy and Casual!
