Happy Thanksgiving from The Seven Hills School!
We wish you and your family a happy Thanksgiving! Seven Hills is thankful for you and all you do to sustain our wonderful community.

Pre-kindergarteners Share Gratitude with Painting Project
Students in Julie Brackett’s pre-kindergarten for 2-year-olds recently completed a gratitude project designed to become a gift for their parents just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday. Brackett said students participated in each step of building three-layer picture frames holding their photos, which later became a special for their parents. The students painted and decorated their frames, following up with adding a gloss coating, with help from Brackett. “My favorite part was the students’ reactions to the final step—adding their photos to the frames,” said Brackett. “Often in pre-kindergarten, it is more about the process and practicing the work more than the outcome. It is especially rewarding when the students have a completed project to be proud of and even more rewarding for them when they give their finished products as a gift of thanks.”

Unit I Poetry Presentation
Amy Kulhavik’s Unit I students participated in a poetry presentation that looked a little different this year. Instead of their usual in-person performance, students practiced and memorized a Thanksgiving-themed poem and then presented the poem with a partner or group to the class. Instead of a live performance, the students’ presentations were recorded for parents and families to view. “The students did an amazing job. The skills they learned, like enunciation, volume, and clarity, are incredible,” said Kulhavik. “I am always in awe of what a fantastic job they do.”
