Boys Golf Wins MVC tournament

Boys varsity golf team won the Miami Valley Conference Tournament for the third consecutive season. The Stingers were tied after two rounds on the second day and it came down to the Stingers’ fifth score to secure the win. Senior Charlie Mullin shot a 76 and junior Billy Good shot a 77. The Stingers were in first place after the first day with Mullin earning a medalist honor for shooting a 71.

Stingers had a strong start to their season. They placed sixth at the Madeira Invitational and the Anderson Invitational and tied for second place at the Warrior Classic. Mullin came in second overall at the Anderson Invitational at Stillmeadow Country Club with a score of 70.

Fall Spirit Night

Stinger Pride was buzzing to capacity at our Fall Youth Sports Night on Aug. 31. All our fall athletes in grades 1-6 were honored during the varsity soccer games. The youth athletes got high-fives and cheers as they ran through the tunnel of the varsity soccer players and coaches. Great job, Stingers!

Volleyball leading MVC

The girls varsity volleyball team is leading the Miami Valley Conference with a record of 5-0 in conference and 7-2 overall. Junior Annie Katuska received an Enquirer player of the week nomination for having 16 assists, 15 kills, six aces, and five digs in the Stingers’ win over Mariemont. She is leading the MVC in aces with 77 for the season.

Strong Start for Boys Soccer

The boys varsity soccer team has had a strong start to the season with nine wins and only one loss. The Stingers defeated Deer Park 7-0 in their first game of the season. They are currently leading the Miami Valley Conference Scarlet Division. Junior Everett Rinaldi received an Enquirer player of the week nomination for have two goals and five assists across the Stingers’ first two games. Senior Leo Weller is tied for second most goals in the MVC with eight. Rinaldi is just behind with seven goals for the season.

Cross Country running strong

The boys and girls varsity cross country teams both found success at the Vern Hawkins CC Invitational on Sept. 9 and the CCD Invitational on Aug. 26. The girls team placed second overall at the Vern Hawkins CC Invitational with freshman Campbell Coyne winning the girls race and freshman Madison Zortman finishing eighth. The boys placed third overall with senior Carter Stevens taking second place and junior Nick Roblyer finishing sixth. The girls team finished first overall at the CCD Invitational with Coyne coming in third and freshman Penelope Hwang coming in sixth individually. Stevens came in first for the boys with Roblyer finishing third, earning the boys team a second place finish. Stevens earned an Enquirer nomination for his win. Multiple Stingers ran their personal bests at the Lebanon CC Invitational.

Girls Tennis starts with a win streak

The girls varsity tennis team started the season with a four-game win streak, defeating DI opponent Mount Notre Dame 3-2 and beating Roger Bacon 5-0 in their Miami Valley Conference opener. Junior Katie Stevenswas named the Enquirer tennis singles player of the week for winning both her matches at second singles in the Stingers’ wins over Madeira and Seton. The Stingers had an excellent showing at the Chaminade-Julienne Tournament in mid-August. Sophomore Daniela Alper was the second singles winner. Seniors Leila Blackshaw-Brown and Megha Gaitonde were the first doubles champions. Freshman Amrutha Juluri and senior Phoebe Rubenstein were the runners up in second doubles.
