Varsity Bowling Teams Having Strong Season

The girls and boys bowling teams recently competed in a conference matchup against Norwood. Both teams won their matches and broke personal and school records.

Boys Team Scores

Noah Kocher: 233, 222 = 455

Jonny Osman: 210, 195 = 405

Will Kersting: 169, 222 = 391

Elan Little: 177, 168 = 345

Thomas Murphy: 161, 170 = 331.

Baker games: 208, 195, 198, 168 = 769

Elias Buttress participated in all Baker games, filling six of the eight frames he bowled.

Kersting, Little, Murphy, Kocher, and Osman broke the 10 games total with a score of 1927, beating the previous record by 20 pins set in 2016. The team also contributed to breaking their own record set in early January. Little also had a personal best series.

Girls Team Scores

Erin Finn: 190, 140 = 330

Loura Ma: 131, 177 = 308

Shanaya Bharucha: 127, 169 = 296

Hana Mahmoud: 129, 145 = 274

Savoy Lackey: 145, 123 = 268.

Baker games: 163, 170, 193, 153 = 679

Finn set a personal record of her 330 series by three pins. Ma set a personal record game by three pins. The girls team  also had season high total pins with their 2155, Baker game of 193 and Baker series with the 679.

The boys and girls teams competed against Clark Montessori on Wednesday. Both teams won their matches and the win allowed the boys team to clinch the Miami Valley Conference (MVC) title. The girls have one more match to go and could place second in the MVC if they win the match.

Recent Upper School Athletes of the Week

Each week, the Athletic Department, with the help of coaches, chooses an Athlete of the Week from both the Middle and Upper schools. These athletes are recognized at www.GoStingers.org and on Seven Hills Athletics social media. An Athlete of the Week is not always someone who scores the most goals that week or starts every game but exemplifies what it means to be a strong Seven Hills student athlete.

Fans Enjoying Livestreamed Basketball Games

Stinger fans are tuning into livestreamed home basketball games. The home games, which are streamed by the Upper School Sports Broadcasting Club (SBC), are broadcast on YouTube and have drawn an average of 150 viewers.  The club is led by junior Thomas Murphy. Guest announcers have included Upper School science teacher Tim Drew, Brice Hill ’19, and juniors Priya Jenkins and Josh Porter. Watch home games on SBC’s YouTube channel here.
