Girls Basketball Wins Gray Division Title

The girls varsity basketball team won the Miami Valley Conference Gray Division title with an in-conference record of 14-0. This is the fourth time the Stingers have won the division title in the last four years. The team ended the season with an overall record of 18-3. The Stingers have a #3 seed going into the sectional tournament and will face #14 Clermont Northeastern on Thursday, Feb. 15 at 7:30 p.m.

Boys Bowling advances to Districts

After coming back from sixth place, the boys varsity bowling team finished third at the sectional tournament and will advance to the district tournament. The Stingers ended the regular season with a win over North College Hill, bringing their record to 10-4. The team was second in the Miami Valley Conference in points averaging 857.5. Senior Elan Little was the fourth place individual leader averaging 199.4 points per game.

Stingers Swim at Sectionals, qualify for Districts

The boys  and girls varsity swim teams had an excellent showing at the sectional tournament on Feb. 9 and 10, with multiple Stingers qualifying for the district tournament. Junior Henry Stimson was the sectional champion in the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke. Sophomore Colin McNerney won the 500 freestyle.  For the girls, the 200 medley relay team of  juniors Josie Schneider and Raine Ellerman and freshmen Avery Clayton and Irene Zhang, and the 200 freestyle relay team of Ellerman, Schneider, Zhang, and freshman Madison Zortman were sectional champions. Schneider also won the 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke.

Indoor Track Competes at Qualifier Meet

The varsity indoor track team traveled to Ohio State University to compete in the OHSAA qualifier tournament. Senior Carter Stevens finished third in the 800 meter and 10th in the 1600 meter. Junior Brady O’Connor set a new school record in the 60 meter with a time of 7.92.
