Hop on Mr. Mike’s Bus — An Early School Bus Tour
October 5, 2026
Director of Transportation Michael Scherpenberg, or Mr. Mike, and his yellow school bus visited the Early School students on the Doherty and Hillsdale campuses to give them a chance to explore the bus and teach them about bus safety.
Students loved sitting in Mr. Mike’s chair and pretending to drive the bus!
“I love the littles,” Scherpenberg said. “They’re always so fun, and they crack me up. I just received thank-you notes from the classes I visited, and they’re my favorite.”
Mr. Mike’s Best Bus Safety Tips:
- Sit calmly and facing forward at all times.
- Talk quietly, so you don’t distract the bus driver.
- No eating on the bus, because we want to be careful about allergies.
