Chinese Club Hosts Mid-Autumn Festival Events

October 5, 2026

In September, Chinese Club brought the Mid-Autumn Festival to the Upper School with matcha, mooncakes, and opportunities to learn about the holiday.

Also known as the Moon Festival, the Mid-Autumn Festival is traditionally a time for families and friends to gather, enjoy mooncakes and tea, and admire the full moon. This year’s festival fell on Friday, Sept. 26.

Chinese Club began its celebration the day before with a matcha sale in the Upper School. Students could choose from original, vanilla, and strawberry matcha to enjoy in the morning or between classes.

The following week, the club hosted a mooncake tasting and cultural learning event, giving students the chance to try the traditional treat while learning more about the holiday, its origin, and its significance. Mooncakes come in many different flavors, and their round shape embodies the full moon, serving as a symbol of reunion and togetherness.

Students taste-test mooncakes before learning more about the Mid-Autumn Festival.
