Upper School Students Explore Ceramics

Upper School students are further developing their ceramics skills with the support and encouragement of art teacher Daniel Vance. They recently completed coil pots and have now begun working on clay masks.
Coil pots are made by stacking and connecting clay coils, which can either be left exposed or smoothed out, depending on the desired look. For the clay masks, students hand-sculpt and carve their designs, drawing inspiration from either their imagination or pop culture.
